I create business applications based around database and reporting technology. After my early years working on dBase and Clipper, I focused on Microsoft: SQL Server, Access, Excel, and more recently Power BI. I hold an MCSA and MCSE in database development on Microsoft SQL 2016, and I also have older MCSD and MCDBA certificates from Microsoft.I founded Business Net Solutions as means to create software solutions for businesses using Windows servers as a basis to build web applications that utilise the full Microsoft technology stack. Within our team we have specialist Microsoft C#.NET developers, Testers, and Windows systems administrators that concentrate on providing a secure and robust platform for our database and reporting. This can equally be within an internal network, a dedicated web server, or "in the cloud".To help build solutions for our clients we have built a set of rapidly configurable web components for team collaboration, CRM, ERP, and communication solutions. These are used for example to build Support desk systems, workload planning, scheduling, mapping, auditing, and general registers of business information. This web-based software is "responsive" - meaning that it works well on laptops and mobile devices.To integrate with external systems we have created our own communications engine that allows us to import and export data files and API messaging with external systems and perform ETL and batch database updates.We have also created a data-driven mobile app that is used to exchange messages, and job/audit/inspection files with the back-end server. Unlike many apps, Mobile Scorecard continues to work when the device is off-line. It is multi-lingual, and configurable to both send and receive work details via secure/reliable data links.Finally, I love data, and I love to create interactive Business Intelligence solutions from our databases, using Excel (Power-Pivot etc), or using Power BI.

At Network Rail I have worked at data extraction and cleaning tasks. Also developed complex performance analysis report for group planning using Microsoft Power BI.
