Business & Systems Arch/Complex Project Manager
Working to evolve and improve the design and creation of software and processes used at the bank for Internet related businesses, in the management of software development itself and at emerging opportunities such as the Bitcoin ecosystem, Ethereum and blockchain tech with R3. Also investigating and modeling the economics of alternate SDLCs made possible through new technologies that enable enterprise-wide simulations of systems of record. From business specification through development to testing, simulated systems are a way to validate the specification, implementation and operation of business processes with the objective of improving quality at all stages of development while reducing the costs and time-frames associated with standing up and tearing down supporting systems.Lead development tools & practices projects on the adoption of Subversion and a CI infrastructure centered on Atlassian Bamboo/Crucible/FishEye, Sonar and on Maven, integrated into Eclipse. This involved identifying and implementing strategies to measure and reduce defect removal time, and thus costs, while increasing efficiency and quality by making developers and managers better informed and more effective. Critical aspects of this work included the specification, implementation and documentation of standards and procedures, including code and development standards, review standards, automated scanning and analysis rules and promoting approaches to maintaining code quality.Other key efforts include moving to more elegant development ecosystem, away from the J2EE deployment paradigm and towards OSGi & ESB's; From older XML tech to more current frameworks with greater utility - Apache Camel and CXF; Virtualizing services using CA Lisa; Mining the value from log files and increasing the serviceability of applications using LogStash and ElasticSearch; Looking to more highly leverage business expertise through working with rules engines and process modeling such as JBoss Drools and BPM.
