• Designed, built and deployed a software platform to virtualize AMGEN’s main bio-manufacturing system enabling a fast, model-driven empirical approach to process development. • Landscaped internal and external space to develop an end-user tailored solution through systems biology and data analytics. Interfaced closely with clients to enable successful results towards bringing a strategy change to AMGEN. Preliminary results, potentia experimentation time reduction from 20 days to 30 seconds.

Newly developed company from a research project between the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Winery Viña Santa Rita, that focuses on the recovery of sub products of wine fermentation in the development of high value products. The products have commercial impact in both the wine and fermentation industry and in the Flavor and Fragrance industry for the development of novel food products. My role has consisted in:• Designing the technology and equipment. Negotiating and properly communicating with Chinese and local production factories, where the equipment was constructed. Leading a productive and technical team in the development and implementation of the technology.• Commercial contact with clients and negotiation with suppliers.• Development of business models and plans and intellectual property registration.• International alliance formation for technological distribution in Europe.

The engineering biotechnology laboratory is a growing and important research, consultancy and applied industrial project developer facility, in the chemical and bioprocess engineering department, of the Pontifical Catholic University. My role, as technology transfer, consisted in:• Leading multiple multidisciplinary teams and research projects.• Writing research grants and business plans.• Negotiation with industrial counterside and facilitating knowledge and technology transfer.• Developing new product and projects with business focus.• Consulting in process biotechnology.

DICTUC S.A. is technological and scientific unit of the Pontifical Catholic University in Santiago, Chile. It is the industrial and applied face of this prestigious university, mainly through research contracts in engineering. Virbac-Centrovet is a pharmaceutical veterinary laboratory that hired DICTUC in the project "Salmon subunit protein optimization in Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae”. My role, as project manager, consisted in:- Setting up a fermentation laboratory consisting of 5 bioreactors with robust control strategies.- Leading a multidisciplinary team and teaching undergraduate students and promoting the biotech research field.- Researching different mediums and control strategies to maximize volumetric productivity, titer and yield.- Generating kinetic growth models, validating them and then simulating better outcomes.- Scaling-up the optimized protocol and reproducing the optimized protocol at an industrial scale.- Overall results: more than twice biomass product in half the time in both microbial cell factories.
