Live Fire Exercise Observer, Coach, Trainer (Oct)

Infantry Observer, Coach, Trainer (Oct)
Controlled and observed training for platoon and company sized elements during realistic, advanced collective training in preparation for overseas deployments. Mentored over 50 junior leaders on infantry tactics, leadership, operational planning, resourcing in harsh environments, and dealing with stress and ambiguity. Provided feedback to the training unit and leaders with PowerPoint, poster, and verbal presentations, many of which were in the field. Conducted over 30 briefings of this type to platoon and company sized audiences (30-100 people).
Operations Planner
Key player in the development of plans for all battalion operations and training. Responsible for developing verbal and written orders sent to subordinate units. Responsible for setting up and running the main battalion Tactical Operations Center (TOC) during operations, including during a three week training exercise and a three day mission command exercise. Lead the Battalion’s planning and resourcing effort for a large scale, 5 week training exercise. This exercise included six distinct, major training events for over 500 hundred soldiers.
Reconnaissance Platoon Leader
Selected by the battalion commander out of 15 other lieutenants to lead the 32 member reconnaissance platoon. All soldiers in the platoon were hand picked, expert infantry soldiers. Mission of the platoon was to provide the commander with intelligence on the enemy. Maintained and accounted for organizational equipment valued at $12.5 million. Planned, resourced, and executed a tryout for the platoon. The tryout assessed over 40 candidates on multiple events and categories including their intelligence, physical fitness, endurance, and ability to survive in Arctic conditions.
Stryker Infantry Platoon Leader
Led a 46 member platoon consisting of 3 rifle squads, a machine gun squad, and four Stryker armored vehicles. Primary mission was to close with and destroy the enemy. Maintained and accounted for organizational equipment valued at $10 million. Led the platoon during numerous training events in Arctic conditions including a six platoon live fire exercises.
