Symblaze Praha s.r.o. was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of California-based Symblaze, Inc. and become one of the top respected digital agencies on the Czech market, with annual turnover 30-50 million CZK and 15-30 employees. I became Symblaze’s “jednatel” and the person responsible for the entire operation, reporting directly to the company owners (based in Los Angeles) and giving support to creative, technology, and client-services departments in Prague. A majority of services were shared between offices, and managed from Prague.My Role: Operations – I had personal responsibility for leading new initiatives:- Tools and Processes – Researching and introducing/implementing new tools and methodologies, especially in IT/IS (Costlocker, Office365, Yammer, Axure, SSO).- Business Relationships – tenders, contracts, negotiation- Internal Efficiency and performance- Finance and Legal- Back office and HRMy Role: Client Management and Creative/Strategic: Besides Operations, I also participated heavily on most major client deliverables and tender presentations, providing deep logistical and strategic support.- Taking role of Account Director and Business Analyst for major clients (Vodafone Qatar, Pilsner Urquell, Tesco Stores, Klookva Bank). Collecting client needs, developing business cases & designing solutions, leading & creating large scale project proposals (Tesco Life Platform, Pilsner Klub).- Leading the team on large-scale strategic, creative, and technological deliverables.- Managing creative and technology resources, including briefing and daily communication. - Quality Assurance + Beta testing – from UX, technology, and creative perspectives.- Leading project execution - from budgeting through concept approval, design, development, testing, and launch.- Collaborating on mobile-app design and development (Tesco, Pilsner Klub).- Researching, proposing and implementing new technologies.

Syntex Praha s.r.o. was a small company that imported software and hardware for TV studios, postproduction houses, and video editors. At that time Syntex was 2nd or 3rd on both the Czech and Slovak markets.My Role – Since the company was small (3-5 people), my role went well beyond marketing:- Leading all marketing & advertising efforts.- Finding and bringing new products to the local market.- Managing all vendors, including negotiating new deals and maintaining relationships.- Participating in international fairs and exhibitions (NAB (Las Vegas), IBC (Amsterdam), Invex (Brno)), including developing the booth and communicating with clients, partners, and suppliers.- Applying previous experience in computer graphics, video editing, and postproduction.
