Established in 1990 as a joint initiative of the Australian Government's Commission for the Future and the Myer Foundation, Asialink is hosted by the University of Melbourne.

Working with the Board, I led the Committee for Melbourne, a strategic leadership think tank, and an apolitical, not-for-profit, member-based organisation that brings together over 150 organisations from Greater Melbourne’s business, academic and community sectors, which share a common vision to make Melbourne a better place to live, work and do business.As an independent organisation we represent no single interest group or political position, but seek to challenge conventional thinking and to develop innovative ideas to continue to enhance our position as an economically prosperous and highly liveable global city.

The ACBC is the premier Australian member-based, peak-industry organisation promoting, through research and events, bi-lateral trade and investment between Australia and China to the benefit of both countries. Its board of governance is led by volunteers.Working with the Chairman and the National Board to lead the development of the organisation’s strategy and objectives national and in Australian state and territory branches..Lead and promote debate and dialogue on Australia-China relations, two way trade and investment, and people to people links through research, education and culture.Develop and deliver the Council’s national revenue raising and business plan.Relationship management with key corporate and government stakeholders in Australia and China. Prepare policy submissions to government and corporate stakeholders and commission research on the Australia-China business relationship. Business and Organisational Development and contribution to Australian nuclear nonproliferation policy.

Reporting to the ARC board, ran a national office of around 70 staff with a $1 million budget and coordinated with the 8 state and territory divisions with more than 1000 staff and 28 thousand volunteers delivering dozens of community and relief services around Australia and internationally. The ARC works within the network of the Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, with more than 180 national societies.
