It's worth pointing out to start with, that one client put it in writing that "You're a glitter-sh*tting unicorn" when they received their first draft CV. I think that's the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me.Your CV is a marketing document. Its only job is to present you as interesting enough to be invited to interview. It's not a dull and bland history lesson. It should show you as fit for today, and ready for tomorrow. Before I write it, I need about 30 minutes of your time to understand your ambition, your voice and your target audience. That 30 minutes asks no commitment from you in advance. That only follows at the end and if I've convinced you I understand what you need. The conversation won't be timed, will be informal and freewheeling, and always slip off at tangents - which is often where the golden nuggets are hidden - but we won't disappear down any rabbit holes either. I want to explore how to show you in the most compelling light - and in your voice, so there's a match between the CV-you and the interview-you. It doesn't work otherwise. That 30 minutes will come with some career insights and coaching. That's not my goal, but it happens if I ask the right questions. Most people ask me to help them at this point, but if you don't think I've 'got' you, no problem. I know this only functions properly if you're committed to it. It's relevant to tell you I've been the candidate, the hiring manager, the recruiter and the headhunter. I can get inside the head of your audience. I know how they work. It's not always predictable. The price for a full CV re-write and design is £238. That includes 30 minutes, the writing, editing and feedback sessions. I can send you more detail exactly how it works if you ask nicely.(My ideal audience is probably those ambitious souls looking to manage other managers for the first time, or established managers looking to escape career inertia that can develop from time to time - but anybody is welcome).
