Selected as Project Newbuild Financial Controller for the opening of the last 5 ships which were built over a period of 5 years.Senior Officer and Department Head of Finance.Primarily responsible for managing the financial risks of the business. Financial planning, record-keeping, as well as analysis of data. Strategic partner and adviser to management.Serving as the financial authority onboard, ensuring the integrity of fiscal data and modelling transparency and accountability. Assisting Heads of Department in managing and controlling their operational budgets in relation to revenue generation and cost control.Maintenance and operation of the onboard hotel cost control systems.Control of inventory activity, entertainment costs and revenue generation within the administration, concessionaires and accommodation divisions.Analysing and providing a review of the Marine/Technical operational expenditure vs budget.Financial reporting of all cost centres and audit controls to shoreside management.Reporting revenue and expenditure in relation to budgets on a cruise by cruise basis.Preparing and setting up the Ship's Yearly budgets and adjusting Quarterly forecasts throughout the year, red-flagging areas of concern.Identifying aspects of financial concern and assisting Heads of Department in developing action when required.Auditing and analysing working practices in order to identify any discrepancies that may impact on the financial performance of the business i.e revenue, cost control, overheads and resources.Heading up various project work aiding in the development of the business.Responsible for all monetary assets.Conducting spot-checks for all Float Custodian cash floats, Casino Cash Desk Assets, Inventory Central Storage and Apple ILounge Shops. Creating the Cash Delivery and Cash Offload requirements for the year (USD and Foreign Currencies) submitted to Treasury. Ultimately responsible for the Ship's Payroll and Guest/Crew Billing operation.

Heavily involved in the Closing down operations when the fleet was sold to Cypriot operator, Louis Cruise Lines.Dry-Dock and Wet-Dock experienced several times.Training of the Finance Assistants and Night Auditors.Overseeing all duties carried out by the Finance Assistants and Night Auditors.Supervising Assistant Pursers (Guest Relations) on their financial duties.Responsible for Passenger and Crew Billing.Foreign Exchange Manager - responsible for the training of cashiers and monies.Preparing Cash Delivery Forecasts and maintaining an accurate safe imprest level.Collating and settling Revenue Reconciliations for all concessionaires.Responsible for the safe and all monies held onboard.Liaising with the Crew Purser on crew account payments and payroll.Responsible for all cash payments to Port Agents and Vendors.Assisting Financial Controller in carrying out regular spot-checks on Bars, Provision Stores, Medical, Deck and Engine Stores.Overtime Analysis.
