Lead efforts for the Chief Technology Office to standardize branch technologies used in 36 countries around the globe where Citi has retail branch presence. Took over the database strategy for the 23 countries in LATAM. Absorbed a team of direct reports in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and the USA. At the same time I continued providing direction and leading the Platforms & Storate strategy. After successfully leading the regional strategy for storage, I took responsibility for the Platforms portion of technology that covers all server deployments in the region. Absorbed a team of direct reports in Mexico. Defined a clear joint strategy for Platforms and Storage was put in place for all in-country techrooms/datecenters to implement automated tools for server deployments, monitoring and security features to comply with corporate standards. Established close relationship with vendors such as HP, DELL and IBM in the entire region. Helped reduce TCO, standardize infrastructure, reduce complexity, enforce automation, and help drive technological transformation in the region. Our Platforms and Storage Engineering group provided direction for: server hardware, Windows server standards, Red Hat, AIX, patch/vulnerability deployment solutions, OS and DB automation, virtualization technologies for the different platforms, internal cloud, SAN and NAS technologies, backups/archiving and replication solutions, and helping consolidate infrastructure in our strategic datacenters following our internal Citi CATE standards.

Responsible for defining the technologies to be used locally for distributed platforms (servers, virtualization, databases, client and end user solutions) and storage (SAN, NAS, backups). Constant interaction with CATE regional and global teams in order to apply all the technological standards required by Citi. In charge of managing the commercial relationship between Citi and the different infrastructure manufacturers and sw vendors (Ex: HP, IBM, DELL, EMC, NetApp, Oracle, Symantec) in order to find the best solutions in the market according to the business needs. Responsible for EOL topics for the entire infrastructure and responsible to lead technically the replacement of obsolete platforms. Team player in conjunction to the local PMO and operational teams in order to make sure projects are implemented successfully. Coordinate within the Distributed Operations group the assignment of resources to assign them to different operation tasks and requests from the business. Responsible to keep the distributed platform operational and stable. Give support to the different technological projects. Responsible of keeping up to date the maintenance contracts with the different manufacturers and negotiate with vendors the acquisition of new hw and sw. In charge of the Windows 2000\2003 server infrastructure, including the web servers for our local services provided via www.mispagosaldia.com and www.citibank.com.co. Keep all the distributed infrastructure configured according to CATEs documentation and best practices. Keep the platforms up to date according to the VTM regional process, as well as maintaining up to date the antivirus DATs and engines for all the windows servers. Knowledge of information security policies that apply to all the technological platforms. Responsible for compliance and RCSA/compliance/audit testing to corroborate that the configurations within the platform comply with CATE and internal CITMP policy.

Citi Colfondos, a Citigroup pensions fund. Responsibility over the Windows server and desktop infrastructure. Lead efforts to merge the services and from Colfondos to the Citi network. Deployed a VmWare based solution to reduce costs for testing servers/environments. A Citi compliant firewall setup was implemented as part of the merger project.
