sharypic was a collaborative and interactive photo sharing platform for events. I have done nearly everything required to run a SaSS company : fundraising, building the product, ops, sales, communication etc.. It worked for ±12 years, but with time interests change – now it's time to move on :-)

Fluicity rethink our democracy. What if projects for townhall / department / regions emerged from the people living over there? Plus a friend (the CTO) was not available for a few months.Long story short : I was willing to experience something different (like working in a team with more than founders). So I brought to the table my own values & qualities while keeping myself as far as possible from management (I'm dedicated to my craft : doing things). All in all it worked nicely (rails, react, materialui). I had the pleasure to discover a remote team from marocco ; those guys were more than awesome! but I'm just an --early stage tech/business guy--. i'm driven by thrill/constraints which comes with the discovery phase of a market (short iteration, direct contact with end user/stakeholder, dead or alive situations, quick decision...).All in all, I'm grateful for this experience.

Happy Geek – Tech Frontend/Backend/Infra (Freelance)

Paris, Île-De-France, France

I joined Wello due to his product/vision focused on the social economy. By far Wello had been the most inspiring project I joined. I loved their approach of the business mixing social impact & profit smoothly (mixing customers, NPO, businesses). So, I joined Wello when it was an association exploring its value proposition with a Facebook chat bot and a tiny Angular frontend with a Ruby backend. I stayed ±twice day/week during ±3years. During this time we built a strong product step by step and explored the market to the point of being ready for the next big step in the project. Also the CEO feeling was that the frontend started to get old and our next step could be a good opportunity to rewrite the front. Say no more, I found the guy to bootstrap a full rewrite of the frontend and we worked to switch from an single domain app in Angular to a a multi domain app in React/MaterialUI. Lastly the team decided to relocate its work force closer to the founding team. I helped with the transition and left happily :-)

I joined Pixaglity as a freelance because a friend (their sysadmin) needed someone to fix a small bug on an "internal app" (ruby/rails/MySQL). This internal app was shameless : no doc, no test, no deploy procedure... nothing appealing to my inner software craftmen. But shameless app had a secret: it was operating a massive transcoding farm (WFS). This farm was not in the cloud... it was just next door in a white room. The temperature was fresh despite the massive blade servers fitting perfectly inside their enclosures. Shameless app was just here... within a blade server, backed by a layer of virtualization (VMWare). Finally I was able to see my software operating at scale on my hardware... It moved me. I asked the name of shameless app to the sysadmin. Shameless app real name was "le MAM". I decided stay ±twice day/week during ±3years. Our journey was made of pure technology :1. my software : refactoring/testing/adding features, moslty in ruby and sometimes in c#2. my hardware : monitoring, instrumentation, process/log management, backupAt last I helped to pitch "le MAM" to FranceTelevision in order to transcode all their TV channels (ingesting/transcoding/shipping 5 TV channels in various formats). We reached the perfect tech score, "le MAM" was glorious and Pixagility needed a real CTO to execute a long term vision around "le MAM". I helped with the recruitement process, training and left "le MAM" in good hand.

Our focus was to create a platform to measure household greenhouse gas emissions (target: avoid a climate disaster, I could not skip on this one). The business model, resell data (now i'll skip this one).I joined the team to help wiring a VB application (input:xml) with an iPhone app (input:json). In the between there was a ruby backend. We explored various area of the market. By doing so our product grow into a web app (for b2c), embeddable widgets (for b2b) etc. Regarding the tech, the most interesting part of this gig was the infrastructure based on AWS (EC2, ELB, SQS...).
