Founded by Filipino health professionals in 1973, in a barber shop in Downtown National City, OpSam initially offered care and services to immigrants who did not have the finances, linguistic skills, or ability to navigate the health care system. Today, OpSam is a HRSA-supported federally qualified health center with services available in National City, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos, and via two mobile clinics. We provide primary care, dental, behavioral health, family planning, integrative health and wellness, healthy nutrition, civic engagement, HIV prevention and PrEP, and other health-related services to our region's uninsured, underinsured, and underserved families from all income levels--regardless of their ability to pay.
