Assessed planning applications, represented the Council at planning appeals, provided a duty planning and pre-planning advice service

Responsible for assessing newly submitted planning applications against local and national planning policies, drafting a report and submitting a formal recommendation to senior management.

Liaised with property developers, consultants and local planning authorities on the development proposals with potentially detrimental impacts on the environment, particularly in relation to flood risk. Prepared statutory responses to planning applications and formal responses to pre-application enquiries.

Responsible for identifying and negotiating to acquire land development sites; assisting architects and planning consultants; liaising with owners, agents & solicitors; drawing up development briefs to present to management.
