As a data architect at AXA Luxembourg, I have to deal with the following activities:- Taking part in enterprise architecture committees and workshops to validate IT solutions- Advising on data architecture aspects of IT solutions- Defining data development guidelines of the company- Assisting group data architecture meetings through Skype conference- Proposing and defining new data components to improve company's access to data, taking care of data confidentiality and security requirementsIn the position of IT data team leader, the following tasks constitute my objectives :- Organizing IT data team developments regarding its capacity. Performing the follow-up and update of team capacity planing- Estimating workloads of IT solutions to be delivered- Staffing developers on tasks/projects- Designing target solution- Reviewing team developers code- Developing and testing solutions jointly with developers

Designing data management solutions, developing it, testing it, insuring its maintenance ... all these tasks were part of my role as BI developer.Main tasks in the implementation of the enterprise data warehouse (core project of the IT Data team) were the following :- Analysis of business need (definition of the data request, definition of the business rules for data enrichment/data cleaning)- Analysis of the data sources (mainframe, oracle database, SQL server database)- Design of a 3NF data model subject oriented with SAP Power Designer : optimized for storage - Design of dimensional data model (star schema) : optimized for query performance- Definition of metadata - Development of ETLs (Microsoft SSIS or MSSQL stored procedures)- Development of scheduling flows- Unit testing / Integration testing- Performance optimization (database administration, partitioning, index definition ...)This core project also relied heavily on an in-house data management framework I partially developed. This framework programmed with SQL stored procedures manages job traceability, job execution monitoring, data quality controls results, aspects of data lineage, loading of flat files as well as its technical data quality checks.

In addition of developing my skills on BI technologies, especially on Microsoft environment (SSIS, SQL Server, Visual Studio), I had the opportunity to participate to the implementation of various projects :- Implementation of an insurance company data warehouse for internal reporting purpose. The data warehouse needed to comply with Solvency II data quality requirements- Development of a BCBS 239 self-assessment tool for an investment bank- Development of an anti-money laundering application : consolidation of financial and client data for client black list screening purpose. Aggregated financial operations were also the input of an anti-money laundering detection algorithm- Implementation of a wealth management company on Luxembourg market: delivery of the whole data management environment, managing integration between core components (like accounting or contract management system) as well as external counter-parties, controlling data quality and insuring correct data structure of files exchanged within the company- Delivery of an architecture study to advise how to best integrate an ODS (Operational Data Store) in the client's application landscapeTaking part in these projects was also the opportunity to practice different type of project delivery methodology : agile as well as waterfall.

Working for several clients in the financial industry, I was mainly involved in Business Intelligence projects (Data Management, Data Warehousing) for insurance companies. It was the opportunity to train on business intelligence technologies like SAS and Microsoft ones. I could also learn the fundamental insurance business processes, particularly regarding the regulatory context (Solvency II).
