Bedly was acquired by Outpost (September 2019)The original inspiration for starting Bedly came from my own terrible experience dealing with finding a place to rent in New York City. At the time the state of housing was sad, there was no innovation and every year it was getting worse. The idea was to create a housing brand that was digital, with hotel amenities and made finding and staying in a long-term apartment a seamless experience.In 2015, Ben Chester and I launched a basic version of the idea. A digital brand of apartments fully managed by us with a hotel-type service. Since then, Bedly has served over 3,000 customers, worked with some of the top landlords in the United States and expanded operations throughout New York, Boson and New Jersey. Bedly attracted over $7MM in venture capital financing from investors who have backed Uber, Buzzfeed, Twitter, and many other top tech companies. Additionally, Bedly attracted a team of 40 of the most talented people in the real estate and technology industries to work with us. Bedly has been credited with leading the creation of the co-living industry(a $90B market). New co-living companies across the US and internationally drew inspiration from Bedly. Many of the features pioneered by Bedly became standard offerings by other players across the world. In September 2019, Bedly was acquired by Outpost, a leading co-living company based in New York City.
