Team Leader

Current

I have been blessed with the opportunity to lead two teams of up to six extremely qualified Senior Developers and a Junior.During my tenure (and I am not done yet), as Cloud Core and Cloud Platform Team Lead at Umbraco, I have been spearheading some quite important projects on Umbraco Cloud. My team has been delivering regional hosting of Umbraco Cloud, expanding operations into four regions, by introducing Infrastructure as Code, to every module of an existing Cloud Platform. Additionally, we have upgraded our platform technology by hosting all our Cloud Services in Kubernetes and enabled Cross-Team collaboration and Security via Azure API Management, taking the Umbraco Cloud Platform to the next level. Requiring both Project Management skills, and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders. We have stream-aligned shipping upgrades to thousands of customers every Tuesday by enabling product teams, to ship and manage upgrades seamlessly, across multiple regions, by automating processes and aligning processes. As a team leader, I am wearing many caps during the week, ranging from Developer and Architect to everything scrum master. In my current position, I am in charge of the staff, and responsibilities such as-Managing Backlogs, Coordinating Sprint Work, Facilitate maturing sessions, Facilitate Retrospectives and day-to-day operations- I am a Hiring Manager, and salary negotiator, Coaching Team members on 1:1's, and Employee planning Program (MUS)- Reporting to Platform Group Lead / Head of CloudIn my opinion, one of the biggest interests when working in software is understanding people and gathering people around common goals. When done with empathy and taking each person on your team into account, you can help each person become the best version of themself, thus making your team thrive. I have a huge passion to figure out what moves the individual and how to shape highly agile, performant, and coherent teams. And I can't wait to learn more!

Senior Software Engineer

Odense Area, Denmark

As a senior developer on the Cloud Team, I've held many different caps. From being front on a culture change, that enabled the teams to move into automated testable software and to enable Continous Integration- and Delivery to the teams. During my tenure as a Senior Software engineer, I've helped the team, by splitting up a monolith application by introducing Domain-Driven design, as well as event-driven service-oriented architecture, that then enabled subteams to form around business capabilities, stream-aligning for fast-tracking features. My accomplishments in this role are introducing service templates that contained a base framework for templating new services, which contained everything from docker images, to fully deployable CI/CD Yaml pipelines and Applications, so it took less than 30 minutes from creating a new service, to have it run in production. Reducing the cognitive overload and TTM for lesser experienced teams.I have helped build UmbracoId, an SSO solution for thousands of Websites on Umbraco Cloud, Built on top of Azure B2C with custom policies. My biggest achievement in this role is re-implementing everything Umbraco Cloud, nearly from the ground up. Historically Umbraco Cloud was built on a bespoke self-hosted Azure Solution, which required an immense amount of operational knowledge, knowledge that we did not want to focus on as a company. Since this product was running out of support, we had to move it, and we moved it to Native Azure. This required taking ownership of all data we had about websites and introducing a whole new engine to manage the complexity of running two Clouds simultaneously.I've architected and built the engine to manage all the complexity from provisioning of Umbraco Cloud Websites, Capacity Planning to control Cost, and Introducing Cloudflare to take control of all incoming traffic to the platform, and build tooling for migrating thousands of websites seamlessly. Building Cloud Platforms is my passion!

Senior Software Developer

Nabufit Global Aps

Denmark

As a Senior Software developer, I had the responsibilities to Plan, Architect and deliver system wide features while coaching and driving the backend team towards better and more solution designs.Going Live in China - One of Nabufit's goals was to launch the Nabufit Platform in China and that included a entirely separate system Hosted on the Chinese Azure Portal. One of my biggest accomplishments together with Danish Industry Asia Base, was to gain access and replicate the Nabufit platform into China including fully functioning and secure Service Fabric cluster, a custom made CI/CD pipeline made with VSTS to easy built and deploy software into china. Furthermore I manage to engineer a separate pipeline, for transferring large video assets securely and predictably behind the Chinese firewall.Collaborating, Reviewing and Merging outsourced projects - Nabufit is in a rapid development, and in order to keep the company on the edge it was decided to outsource one of the products. The project was fully self contained and run by a third party. My job was to align Nabufits internal infrastructure with the new projects as well as architecting clear communication standards between the system. Later in the project my job translated more into reviewing the code quality as well as taken ownership of the finished product.Other noteworthy achievements - Creating a highly scalable notification system (like facebook).- Creating a graph system to handle user- and followers, groups, company relationships in Azure Cosmos GraphDb- Creating a seamless way to manage large video- and data assets on the Nabufit platform, connecting and enabling collaboration between Content Managers and Content Creators.New technologies used:Azure Chinese portal, GraphDb, (referring to to my previous position at Nabufit)

Nabufit Global Aps

At NABUFIT we build fitness applications made to scale for thousands of simultaneous customers and we do that by leveraging Microsoft Azure platform. My job as a backend/devops developer involves making sure we are using the right tool for the tasks at hand, and how we continuously can improve the way software is getting to delivered to the customers by using continuous delivery.Responsibilities and technogies- Backend developer and architect - Bilding services around a microservice architecture using Service Fabric.- DevOps and QA - At NABUFIT we have alot of moving parts ranging from deployment of new services to infrastructure, and to make sure that each delivery is successful all new features must undergo a rigorously testing phase. The steps involved are Unit testing (Component based testing), integration testing (Multiple components/infrastructure testing) and Acceptance Testing (End to end) using SpecFlow. - Azure media services - Asset management- Security - The NABUFIT platform has many points of access. We implemented and configured our own OAUTH Service based on (https://github.com/IdentityServer/IdentityServer3), to manage different kind of clients. - Powershell - Powershell is an integral part of how we manage and interact with everything inside the NABUFIT platform.- Integration/implementation - Alot of the work we do as a backend developers at NABUFIT, is designing lean a Api's, which is getting consumed by multiple teams. This also includes asynchronously communication with alot of third-party vendors, apple, google, Maxmind etc.* Power BI - We are using Power BI to make basic reporting based on data from our different stores.Technologies used:.NET Stack, Visual Studio Online Services, Microsoft Azure, Service Fabric, SQL Server, DocumentDb, AzureTableStorage, Azure Data Factory, Powershell, Git (VSTS), Rebus, Specflow, NUnit, Redis, IdentityServer3, WebApi 2.0, OWIN, Castle Windsor

Software Developer

Odense Area, Denmark

My relatively short stay at Oxygen was quite eventful. Coming from a place were Continuous integration and automation was in the heart of the software delivery to a place where we were only just began to look into these practices was a huge learning point for me. - DevOps - Creating Build and deployment pipeline for sitecore applications.- Developing sitecore applications - I got to know the basics of sitecore and how it worked.- Powershell - Automated tasks for fixing Visual studio projects dependency issues, and saving alot of time for other projects dealing with the same kind of issues.- Version control with Git - Many projects were suffering for missing parts in source control, and for that reason we had to update a lot of projects to use version control and dependencies correctly to easily board new members og building the applications from scratch. The reason for me leaving the company was not because of the great team spirit at Oxygen, but because i couldn't see myself working at Oxygen years down the road. Essentially it boils down to the technically challenges we needed to solve and they didn't fuel my fire.Technologies used:.Net Stack, Sitecore, Jquery, Octopus Deploy, Teamcity, Nuget, Powershell, Git
