English Second Language Teacher
CurrentMy teaching style is enthusiastic and creative. In my classroom, adult learners are instructed in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Most of my students are adults preliterate in their own language. There are few resources or curricula for the specific needs of this demographic. To meet this challenge I have created an entire "toolbox" of resources and activities that keep students engaged while challenging them to grow in their English communication. Additionally, I have developed a basic computer skills curriculum to meet the needs of incoming refugee students with no previous experience with any technology. Resume creation, application skills, and interviewing practice is also given in my job skills class for new Americans.
