My career has been one of many disciplines and changes throughout. From a very early age, due to being born in a true classic aviation family (a father who was captain with JAT, Air Holland & Dutchbird and many more) I’ve always ambitioned an aviation career, preferably becoming a pilot myself. However, life is full of surprises; that is why I started my career as a musician. I completed the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht and graduated as a professional artist, which still is my ‘on-the-side’ occupation and something I am evermore keen on doing.After a few years as a musician and working on music coach projects, I discovered my quality in a managing position and went on looking for a suitable position. Due to my affection with automobile sports, I soon ended up in Zandvoort and applied as a BMW Driving Experience instructor. After being an instructor for some months, I was appointed to step up for the position of Event Manager, which I enjoyably performed for almost three years. During this period, my longing for the aviation business started to rise and I realized that I was not working within the sector that I really wanted.That is why I left the BMW Driving Experience Slotemakers and applied at Swissport Amsterdam as a Turnaround Coordinator, to learn all about the ground handling aspects and get some experience working in the aviation sector. In this period, I was trying to figure out my path in this sector. For almost two years, I performed my role, mostly handling TUI fly NL aircraft and therefore the step to TUI fly was in the end quite logical. I applied for the vacant position at QSSE and was very delighted that I was chosen to fulfil this position. Until April 2022 I held a full-time Quality Officer - Auditor position within TUI fly BENE (Belgium / The Netherlands), specialized in Ground Operations, Management, Internal, Environment, Cabin and Lease-in Auditing. Very happy to have been a part of the team and that I was awarded with a permanent position and naturally involved in the survival-endeavour of the whole TUI Group during the pandemic. After 4 years with TUI fly and TUI Group I was ready to make my next step, which involved leaving the country I grew up in for 30 years. Currently I am delighted that I hold a permanent position as Ground Protection Compliance Manager with SWISS International Airlines based in Zürich; my home is located in canton Solothurn🇨🇭. At this time I am the Deputy Head Of Ground Protection at S/OQQG.
