I am a climate scientist who passionately pursues data-driven policy by helping lawmakers understand research. My transdisciplinary background and policymaking experience demonstrate my commitment to enhancing lawmaking through science communication and stakeholder engagement.In 2020, I earned my PhD in climate science from MIT for researching ocean-atmosphere interactions. As a Mirzayan Fellow at the National Academy of Sciences, I drafted policies to reduce food waste and make international trade more sustainable. During my postdoc at Yale’s Center for Environmental Law & Policy, I directed the 2022 Environmental Performance Index. I researched leading policies to mitigate climate change, protect biodiversity, and enhance public health – and communicated my findings to policymakers in 180 countries, helping to implement more scientific and effective environmental solutions. I then served as an AAAS Fellow with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and then the Office of Senator Ed Markey, where I worked to advance environmental justice and civil rights policies. I am currently a Climate Change Mitigation Staff Scientist for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III Technical Support Unit, where I advise the Working Group III Bureau on scientific and technical matters relating to the 7th Assessment Report.@neonephology
