Highlights include:Advised the Chinese government during its process of creating the largest single steel producer in the world. This encompassed consolidation of numerous production units into a single management structure which was then charged with upgrading logistics, raw material procurement and corporate finance capabilities to make offshore investments and acquisitions. Provided corporate finance guidance to numerous Chinese State Owned Enterprises (SOE's) faced with the challenge and opportunity of operating independent of the Central government. Guided Russia's largest regional bank through its growth process to ultimately become the country's 7th largest bank. Designed first exchange based hedging operation and international marketing program for Russia's largest mining group with sales then exceeding $10 billion. Developed, owned and managed a new ship breaking and metal recycling JV in the Ukraine which achieved total yearly turnover of $200 million. Bartered much of the processed raw materials to local cash-strapped steel mills for finished steel which was then exported to Mediterranean markets.

At the age of 32 became the Chairman and CEO of Philipp Bros. division of Salomon Inc. ($35B, 4,000 employees & 45 global offices), formerly one of the largest physical commodity trading companies in the world. Had previously directed a series of successful trading departments within Philipp Bros. in agriculture, bulk products and nonferrous metals. Designed and managed a global reorganization of Philipp Bros. by divesting its largest holdings and trading activities in S. Africa while simultaneously dramatically expanding activity in Russia and China. At one point was Russia's single largest U.S. trading partner. Refocused trading concentration in derivative and futures based physical commodities to both mitigate risk and expand trading opportunities. Actively involved in client relationship management throughout the world, particularly Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, as well as via the leadership of a worldwide network of offices, agents and local representatives.
