Customer’s requests require flexibility in the process, so software at SPS always should guide people and not limit them in their actions.With creating a large distribution centre (DC) nearby the main offices and production locations, a warehouse management system (WMS) was needed to enable a scanner based way of working. We created such a WMS that is interoperable with the existing ERP software (Improve). After full implementation within the DC, this WMS has become part of a broader set of SPS dedicated ERP solutions. The focus on SPS goals is now expressed in the solutions name: Pingenti, i.e. Latin for ‘for those who are painting’ . Pingenti is now in use for managing (intermediate) warehouses, supporting production and developing product recipes.Pingenti comprises a server application based on Java running on Tomcat and using an Oracle database.
