Chair from September 2011 - April 2013. Vice Chair 2009-2011Health Poverty Action works to strengthen poor and marginalised people in their struggle for health. It recognises that the greatest causes of poor health worldwide are political, social and economic injustices. This causes unnecessary suffering on a massive scale. It tackles the root causes of poor health as well as the symptoms through direct programme work, advocacy and campaigning.

Geneva Area, Switzerland

Ecumenical microfinance organisation based in Geneva working across 21 developing countries providing financial services to poor rural communities. Joined the International Board in 2006 and then elected to become Chair in 2008. Led the organisation through a major strategic planning process and a reform of the governance structure. Stepped down as chair in October 2010 because of other commitments, but continued in role of Vice Chair until October 2011.
