I’m happy to be an investor in Synapse and an advisor to founder and CEO Charlie Russell. Synapse is pioneering a new way for PR and press officers to outreach to editorial media while giving journalists a modern, light touch way of researching their stories. It drastically reduces time-wasting emails for journos as it’s done through a platform-based stories “marketplace”. Think Rightmove for Press/PR interface. Besides making life easier for both sides of the hack and flack hegemony, the AI potential is exciting too.

I now work on projects I enjoy and where I can add value to agency, tech and SME bosses and boards as a mentor/advisor and, for bigger organisations, as a PR and communications strategist and creative ideas man.I supplemented my practical "been there, done that" 25+ experience growing business and developimng people with a formal qualification as an accredited mentor with The Portfolio Collective in December 2023. I was awarded an OBE in the first King's Birthday Honours list in June 2023 for services to opening up Civil Partnerships to all. I was the honorary Chairman of the Campaign for Equal Civil Partnerships which campaigned successfully to have Civil Partnerships (as a modern alternative to marriage) made available in the UK to all couples, including heterosexual couples. The law was changed in England & Wales in December 2019 and later in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
