I managed drainage, service ducting, crash barriers, noise barriers, road marking, road signs, and public lighting on a motorway project that included two sections: an 8 km stretch with three interchanges and a 4 km stretch with one interchange. I was solely responsible for supervising the construction of these elements, coordinating closely with designers and local authorities due to the complexity of the upgrade works. My design suggestions were often adopted, leading to significant time and cost savings. For instance, I raised a 2 km section of carrier drain by 1 meter, saving 2,000 meters of imported fill and avoiding hazardous digging conditions. I handled all safety documentation, including permits to work and dig, requiring extensive knowledge of H.S.A. regulations and existing motorway services. Additionally, I finalized monthly accounts with subcontractors, authorized payments, and managed material orders to ensure uninterrupted production. I led a team consisting of graduate engineers , three direct labour crews and surveyors - consistently meeting strict deadlines and avoiding penalties despite the challenges of working on a live motorway.

At CMP, a joint venture between Sisk and Treasury Holdings, I was responsible for constructing all lift shafts and stair cores, each a standalone structure forming the backbone of the building's steel frame. I ensured accurate setup for each concrete pour, including steel frame pockets and mechanical and electrical openings, while also maintaining the vertical alignment of the cores. Regular coordination with structural designers and architects was essential to address on-site challenges. I maintained the construction schedule for each lift shaft, monitoring progress weekly, and completed all quality paperwork for the concrete pours. I also played a key role in Ireland's largest continuous concrete pour, involving over 1,300 m³ of concrete for the base of a new 34-story hotel. Additionally, I served as the temporary works coordinator, ensuring all temporary structures met design specifications and received the necessary approvals from design engineers and suppliers.

As a senior engineer on the Luas B1 line, I oversaw two section engineers, managing both their sections and my own. Each section involved road realignment, traffic management, and service diversion and relocation. I was responsible for maintaining accurate site records and dayworks, particularly due to the numerous additional tasks, such as laying extra ducting for companies like ESB.

Each plant typically included three reinforced concrete tanks, a control building, and various smaller structures, along with ductile pipework installation connecting the tanks and integrating with mechanical subcontractors' systems. Additionally, I completed foul water drainage schemes in two villages, overseeing all engineering work on the pipelines, including a 2 km vacuum system. I also supervised house connection subcontractors and managed the project’s archaeological challenges, tracking any delays caused by discoveries.

This contract involved installing 350 meters of high-security fencing around part of the curtilage wall at Wheatfield Prison. My main responsibilities included setting out the fence, providing accurate levels to ensure alignment with existing roads and footpaths, and managing the ordering of all materials and equipment to ensure timely project completion. Given the sensitive nature of the job, I was in daily contact with the Irish Prison Service to navigate security limitations and restrictions, for which I held security clearance. Additionally, I managed health and safety protocols and maintained quality standards throughout the project.

This contract involved constructing a molasses storage facility, which included nine steel tanks (19,000 m³) inside a bunded wall, along with office and control buildings. The tank bases were built on driven concrete piles, and contaminated soil was removed from the site. I was responsible for setting out the entire site, handling engineering tasks such as leveling and cube making, and managing office duties like processing dockets and maintaining the quality system. I also recorded and submitted all dayworks for extras to the Resident Engineer.I was responsible for the setting out of the whole site and also engineering work i.e. levels, cube making.I also did the majority of the office work for example processing dockets and maintaining the quality system in place. The job had many extras and I had the task of recording all dayworks and submitting dayworks sheets to the R.E.
