Strong experience in both organisational strategy and operational performance.Following on from five years leading organisational strategy, service redesign and improvement, and three years as Co-Director – Operations for Medicine, Specialist Medicine and Emergency Medicine services at Barwon Health, my current role is Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Alfred Heath. I am accountable for strategic and operational leadership and responsible for the development of service plans, Key Performance Indicators and service delivery across Alfred Health's clinical operations. I have developed corporate strategic plans, business plans and service plans, delivered major programs and projects, undertaken health systems research, and built improvement capability across the workforce. In my operational roles I’ve converted strategy and projects into sustainable outcomes at a patient level and created systems for continuous improvement. Key result areas have been in safety and quality, access and efficiency, financial stewardship and the experience of both patients and staff in Emergency, Cancer, General Medicine, Neurosciences, Renal, Endocrinology, Respiratory, Cardiac, and Gastroenterology services delivered in acute and community programs.As a clinician with a masters degree in business, key areas of strength are: fostering collaboration at the interface between health policy and healthcare practice; rigorous service analysis and exploration of new opportunities; best-practice mobilisation of improvement; and productive internal and external stakeholder engagement. My clinical, strategic, operational and research experience underpins a comprehensive perspective of health service delivery across the care continuum and its training and research foundations.
