Software engineering manager with a product management background and experience in recruiting, building and managing mid-sized teams of engineers to develop cloud-based software applications. Although not a programmer, I bring a hands-on, results focused approach, to lead agile teams in efficient, continuous delivery cycles, prioritising maintainability, reliability, usability and security in each iteration. My product management background makes me acutely aware of customer needs versus wants, ensuring our focus remains on building a minimum viable product that maximises use of engineering resources and minimises maintenance overheads. Known for my open and transparent communication, I encourage a sense of ownership and self-sufficiency in engineering and work with the team to take responsibility for all stages of product development, from design and quality assurance to delivery, operations and ongoing support.
