Current• Migrated the gainger.com SOLR search engine from on prem servers to AWS EC2 instances in the cloud in April 2022. Along with the migration, we upgraded the SOLR version from 5.5 to 8.6.2. Created the ability to scale up and down server capacity as needed. This was the first major component of the grainger.com website to be migrated to the cloud. • Created enhanced search functionality by incorporating Qualifier Parsing and Terms features in June 2020. Qualifier Parsing added search query pre-processing to pinpoint search results for customers. Terms allowed search analysts to supplement the product data in the search index with specific terms to improve keyword searches. These two features increased search revenue by approximately $300 million dollars.• Migrated the grainger.com search engine from Endeca to SOLR in Jan. 2019. This migration helped reduce licensing costs, easier scalability, is customizable & extensible, and improved overall page response times.• Responsible for all code design, development, support, and performance metrics for all search and browsing functionality for grainger.com. The search development teams have delivered over 100+ projects and enhancements that resulted in an increase of 33% of online sales.• Managed up to 6 different agile sprint teams with over 50+ team members that consisted of on & offshore development resources. The teams were comprised of 10% full time employees and 90% contractors from various contracting companies. Responsible for both on and off boarding of development resources.• Assisted in managing the grainger.com application server platform migration from Broadvision to the Hybris platform in November 2013.• Experience with: Hybris, SOLR, Zookeeper, AWS – EC2s, S3, Lambda, SNS, & SQS, CircleCI, Terraforms, Gatling, Snyk, Swagger, Bitbucket, Pact Broker, Gatling• Performance Tools: Dynatrace, Catchpoint, Datadog, Soasta, Splunk, Zenoss, & Tealeaf.
