Providing expert advice primarily in the offshore renewable energy sector, engaged in projects including:- Consultant advisor to DP Energy (Ireland) Ltd. Supporting the development of the company's Uisce Tapa tidal stream project in the Bay of Fundy Canada in a Joint Venture Agreement with corporate Japanese partners Chubu and K-Line, and also the Gwynt Glas Floating Offshore Wind project with JV partner EDF in the Celtic Sea.- Chair Marine Energy Wales (active since 2014). A Non-Executive role supporting Welsh Government policy in the development of offshore renewable energy around the Welsh coastline. Specifically supporting stakeholders including project and technology developers, regulators, supply chain and academia to promote wave and tidal energy, and floating offshore wind.- Chair Celtic Sea Developers Alliance. UK/Irish/Welsh stakeholder body seeking to promote development of floating offshore wind generation in the Celtic Sea.- Appointed as Marine Energy Expert to inform European Commission and the EU Association of Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTA) regarding the feasibility of sustainable marine energy in 27 overseas territories worldwide.- Advised a major Japanese Corporation regarding a marine energy project in Japan.- Advised new investor considering opportunities in marine energy.- Lectured and presented marine energy themes at international conferences and events in UK and Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and USA.

Accountable to the shareholders led the company's development to achieve commercial scale power generation:- Delivered and tested at sea a full-scale 400kW prototype in 2015- Developed purpose-built marine energy test centre in Ramsey Sound, Pembrokeshire, Wales.- Secured £10M public funds - Formed and negotiated strategic partnerships with academic institutions, infrastructure providers, key supply chain providers.- Achieved productive consultation relationships with multiple stakeholders from Government, Regulators, Statutory Consultees, Community- High profile media work including TV and radio in seeking to promote this nascent industry.

Managing Director. Created a new business entity in the UK for L-3 Communications (initial turnover £10M, 85 employees). Established the infrastructure, and appointed and recruited as necessary the management team to create a legal entity profit centre. Existing advanced technology engineering activities on three sites, in Bristol, Barrow-in-Furness, and Burgess Hill were integrated and incorporated into the new UK entity. Secured new long term contract (10 years plus) for engineering support and equipment supply to the proposed aircraft carriers (CVF) for the Royal Navy. The business specialised in the design, supply and installation of integrated ship automation and control systems, and training and simulation systems for programs including the Astute Class nuclear submarine. Was appointed as L-3 representative Director to the Executive Board of a Joint Venture Company (between L-3 and BAE Systems).

P&L management accountability for all UK activities of APC, including manufacturing units for large electrical machines (power levels to 50MW), and high voltage electrical conversion equipment in Rugby, Kidsgrove and Glasgow. 800 employees, turnover of £100M. Led UK executive Board of Directors in supplying complex power electronic and electrical power system equipment solutions to a range of industrial applications, including utilities and energy companies (including renewables), steel and paper process industries, marine and offshore, mining and general industries. The business was characterised by its bespoke project solutions, typically with high technical and commercial risk.
