Director Technology And Innovation Management
CurrentIn my new role, I'm in charge of the digital transformation of the SCHUNK products on their path towards Industry 4.0. We started a lab for AI and are building the first generation of SMART PRODUCTS that process data in the component, the edge, and in our backend infrastructure, enabling new services and intelligent features like autonomous milling and grasping.The work comprises the start and ramp up of an artificial intelligence and cybernetics team.
Lab Director And Director Of Technology Strategy
I started with 15 researchers in Paris and then moved the lab to Rennes where the lab grew to more than 50 researchers. The mission of this lab is to develop systems and technologies in the field of machine learning, data mining, and user profiling as well as networking and content security. Specifically, we support the different Business Units in their need to analyse the data coming from the home devices like gateways and set-top-boxes, but also from the deployed home automation and IoT services.Our key projects are on:- virtual CPE: develop a platform that hosts edge services in a cloud infrastructure. Keywords are NFV and SDN technologies at the network edge- data-aware gateways: we continue to collect data available on the home devices like gateway, set-top-boxes and IoT termination devices and provide analytics services like failure prediction as well as user and device profiling- IoT sensing: we are working on machine learning technologies to learn from sensor signals.

This research is conduced worldwide and comprises about 150 researchers in our labs in the US, Europe, and Asia.
