Martin has been with Avison Young [previously GVA] since 2004 working in Valuation Consultancy. His experience extends to other professional practices in Birmingham and for a number of years abroad with Colliers Jardine in Australia. He carries out valuations for a variety of purposes, particularly where development and regeneration issues are involved. Based in Brindleyplace, he specialises in Development Appraisals with particular emphasis on urban brown-field sites and often in a Compulsory Purchase context.Martin has advised many local authorities, Universities, regional development agencies and National Health Trusts on their property portfolios. He has acted on behalf of the public sector on various ways of extracting benefits other than financial from their property assets, advised on land assembly programmes and other means of releasing value; devised strategies in the review of a site’s attributes and worked within design teams on the mix, density and use of a site.He has experience of assessing submissions for/from developers, interpreting schemes and appraising offers.Specialties: Development.
