    A United States NGO with a mission to reunify trafficked children with their families in Nepal. Responsible for all Nepal-based strategy and operations. Managed a US$ 300,000 budget and 35 staff plus 40 volunteers. Steered NGN through period of change including a new 5-year Government-approved country strategy, a staff re-structure and new legally compliant HR policies, security policies and finance systems. Built and maintained relationships with key US and Australian donors. Income, staffing and programmes grew by 350% during my tenure.Led programmes impacting the lives of hundreds of institutionalised children involving family reintegration, leaving care, educational scholarships and capacity building for the Government and CSOs. Designed and led a 2015 earthquake response project involving child friendly spaces, anti-trafficking check-posts and sensitisation campaigns. Reached 46,000 families. Project showcased as a model of good practice to the European Commission DG ECHO.Pioneered Nepal’s orphanage trafficking/voluntourism campaign. Resulted in 'orphanage trafficking' being given legal recognition by the US State Dept, contributed to its inclusion in the Australian Modern Slavery Act, five foreign embassies changing their travel advice and the tourism sector divesting from ‘orphanage trips’. Represented NGN with the media and on high-level national and global technical working groups.
