Developed and maintained the overall safety culture of the facility, and accomplished zero injures as Corporate Safety Manager.(compared to 9 injuries the previous year) Planned, scheduled, and instructed the 24 Hour Hazwoper training. Identified hazards and worked to eliminate them in explosive and non-explosive atmospheres. Managed the confined space entry program per OSHA 29CFR1910.146, including the 4 gas meter. Used OSHA regulations(LockOut Tag Out 29CFR.1910.147) to develop and implement the major program including the training of workers and the writing of Standard Operating Procedures manual.Managed special safety maintenance projects such as 1) repair of working surfaces,lighting systems, electrical systems and catwalks 2) Identification of and labeling of piping systems.3) ensuring signage on buildings were up to date , and hazardous materials were stored properly.Updated and stamped Spill Control and Counter Measure Plans, as well as Permit Applications for Water Treatment Systems. Performed and recorded maintenance checks on air emission systems for the laboratory, as well as efficiency monitoring with a Photo Ionization Detector.

Set-up and implemented a documentation system to accumulate , store and ship D008 hazardous waste. Drafted ISO 14000 standard operating procedures, and completed the bi-annual large quantity generator report with supporting documentation. Also initiated an oil recycling program in which collection points were designed and internal uses of oil were developed . Initiated monthly safety training that reduced OSHA, DART and TRIR statistics by 18.6%. Also performed Lock-Out/ Tag-Out per OSHA 1910.147 procedures on a daily basis as the Angel-Devil machine was cleaned at the end of the shift.

Perform quality control , (QC) of hazardouse waste shipments with a focus on least cost processing facility. Apply Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) 49 CFR 100-185, shipping protocol and flag shipments that are not properly manifested, or do not match the computer based CHESI hazardous waste profiles and redirect for proper billing. Chairmen of the VPP Safety Committee, which develops safety culture and solves employees safety concerns using the VPP tools: Management Leadership and Employee Involvement, Work Site Analysis, Hazard Prevention and Control and Safety Training. A key step in supporting these tools was the Process Safety Management of Change which was used to introduce safer tools and procedures into the work place. Also as a responsibility of Safety Committee Chairmen were training people on Corrective Action Plan Inspections for facility and evaluating the progress of the VPP program implementation.

Conducted ground water site assessments and soil remendiation per TierI report, Ohio BUSTR and Ohio Applied Code, OAC 1301: 7-9-13 (H) Also coordinated field work with the drillers, equipment, soil samples, lab results and final reports including Corrective Action Plan. Also Interior mold abatement project coordinator required client contact.

Areas of expertise included incinerator (Thermal Oxidizer) destruction efficiency tests per EPA Method 25 and SARA 311, 312,313, TRI reporting and mangaged air pollution control, per Tittle V air emissions standards. Chemical engineer calculations were used to achieve compliance with these statues, New Source Performance Standards for Simple Cycle Power Generation Stations, EPA Regulations 40 CFR 60 subpart GG, 40CFR413 and RCRA emergency response / remediation projects., ESA and PCA evaluations. The direct result was achieving environments in compliance with federal state and local regulations requiring client contact. Achievements include managed installation and start-up of water treatment systems per CWA and completed air dispersion modeling for discharge permit applications. Additional duties included air sampling for personnel protection during demolition of buildings and asbestos removal projects. Managed mercury exposure and recorded lab results for employee's and inspected ventilation hoods on a monthly basis.

Developed chemical processing technology through creating P&ID drawings, primarily utilized vacuum systems, compressed gas handling systems and energy conservation with heat transfer calculations. Participated in OSHA Process Safety Management training and applied it to the design process. Completed administrative and technical tasks for a pre-engineered Tank Farm Module Project and was given the additional responsibility as Technical Coordinator. Following the client's construction management closely was the key to delivering a quality product per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.

Conception to completion of NPDES permits application for electroplating wastewater pollution control system. Supervised construction and start-up of the wastewater system per EPA Regulation 40CFR413, including NOV management prior to completion. Demonstrated that the company's labeling storage and availability of MSDS to employees was in compliance with the Hazard Communication Training Regulation (MSDS) per 29 CFR 1910.120 for chemicals. Responsible for distributing personal protection equipment (PPE) to employees, monitored and recorded results of chrome plater's medical check-ups per OSHA standards. Technical Contact for Government Officials such as Fire dept. OSHA, EPA, Metropolitan Sewer District ( MSD) and Workers Compensation which requested progress reports, injury records and plant tours.

Completed Capital Acquisition Requests for process improvements and performed process unit economic analysis to determine manufacturing cost per pound of product for petroleum, plastics and chlorine manufacturing. Installed quick re-strike lights for the emergency exit lighting system on stairways and catwalks of the reactor facility.
