As a senior engineering leader within the AI/ML division, I was responsible for the architecture and design of major components of the Siri virtual assistant. I worked on software improvements to Siri that have been deployed to well over a billion devices, supporting over 40 locales worldwide. This includes features that run on the entire range of Apple devices from iPhones and Macs through HomePods, Apple Watches, and CarPlay units.

I co-founded the AI technology company PullString (originally called ToyTalk). Our vision was to use AI to make it effortless to talk with the voice-enabled technology that surrounds us. As CTO, I was responsible for the technical roadmap of the company and managing the engineering effort. This included evolving the PullString SaaS Platform, which included the powerful PullString Converse web app that let non-technical users create voice applications for popular devices like Amazon Echo and Google Home. PullString was acquired by Apple in 2019.

I was the founder and president of Code Reddy Inc., a technology consultancy that provided world-class software design, process, architecture, and development services. Code Reddy specialized in 3D computer graphics solutions for the entertainment industry, network-based applications for social networking, and website development. Clients included Linden Lab, where I worked for over a year on architectural, feature, and process enhancements for the Second Life viewer.

I was a member of the R&D team at The Bakery Animation Studio, where I led the studio's animation software effort. The company was a startup 3D computer animation studio based in the south of France. My position involved designing and implementing the software that animators would use to create short and feature films. The company closed its doors at the end of 2008 due to the loss of its funding.

I was a lead engineer in Pixar's Studio Tools R&D department, where I managed a team of engineers building next-generation animation tools for our artists. This involved building and maintaining a large C++ desktop application with extensive scripting APIs accessible via C++ and Python. Previous to this, I took on the role of infrastructure technical lead, during which time I was responsible for developing our automated testing, code coverage, performance testing, build, and documentation infrastructure.I also worked directly as a C/C++ engineer on Pixar's in-house filmmaking software, adding new features from deep core changes all the way up to new GUI workflows. While at Pixar, I've worked on software used in Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, and Ratatouille, among others.

I was elected to the Board of Directors of the Web3D Consortium for two years running. In this position, I worked with the other directors on advancing the VRML97 and X3D ISO standards and organizing the annual Web3D conferences. I represented the organization at several ISO meetings and was responsible for extending the VRML international standard to support geospatial data.

At SRI, I worked in the Perception program of the Artificial Intelligence Center, working on the network-based 3-D terrain visualization system called TerraVision. This effort also involved international standards-based work as chair of the GeoVRML working group, and work on a scheme to index all geospatial information on the Internet, referred to as the GeoWeb.
