About Martin Rylance
Martin Rylance has had a truly International career with THREE60 Energy, BP Exploration, it's Joint Venture Companies and their Partners, having lived in 12 Countries and pumped in more than 42; he has spent the majority of his time working with Hydraulic Fracturing and Pressure Operations. Specializing in new Country start-up operations and Technology transfer, he truly represents the International face of the Petroleum Industry; he has provided Training Courses and set up Operational Teams in many Countries and is widely known within the Global Operator Portfolio and the Stimulation Industry.Throughout his career, Martin has been well known for his work in unusual (tectonic) stress regimes, from the thrust faults of the Andes Mountains in South American locations, to the plate tectonics of the Pacific Ring of Fire in South-East Asia. From the salt diapir affected structures of the North Sea and on to the Jebel-Akhdar Mountain Range of Northern Oman and the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. His operational work around these unusual stress regimes and their influence on fracture initiation and placement; has been key in ensuring that Companies he has worked for have continued to enjoy successful field developments on a world-wide basis.Another area in which Martin has specific technical skills are Hydraulic Fracturing and Completion operations within very extreme HPHT and Sour (H2S) environments; from static temperatures of 300 deg F up to 450 Deg F, pore-pressures that are equivalent to as much as 14 ppg and wells with up to 10% H2S. He is also well known for Coiled TubinG Drilling and Multilateral well technology, performing multi-well Pilots in numerous Countries. In fact his career is best summarised as ensuring Optimised Enhanced Reservoir Access.In his role as Discipline Lead Frac. and Stim. and Distinguished Advisor, he has taken the lead in expanding knowledge in unconventionals and tight-gas / tight-oil. Working with the Functions across THREE60 Energy and BP to offer new insight into completion approaches with these developments.More recently he returned to Russia to represent wells as the BP Russia Wells Manager, caretaking their shareholding within RosNeft, their Join-venture businesses, Exploration operations and Technical support to Russia. Post this he has chosen to retire from BP and take up an opportunity with THREE60 Energy as they build their Global full-service capability.
