I am a software executive with extensive experience and achievement building engineering organizations and excellent software products. I am a driver for performance, health, and growth in software teams and their members. Currently, I am Senior Vice President of Engineering for the Data Sciences division of Certara (NASDAQ: CERT), a bio simulation and clinical data analytics company. My software teams at Certara are responsible for more than 20 software products delivering upwards of $100MM in annual revenue.Prior to that, I served in leadership roles at two Philadelphia-area software start-up companies. I was CTO of Wingspan Technology, which developed multiple SaaS products and document management solutions popular in regulated industries, especially the Life Sciences industry. While there, I built the software engineering practice and led the software teams through the company’s sale to IQVIA (NYSE: IQV) in 2017. I was then named VP of Engineering of Pinnacle 21, which enables Life Sciences organizations to measure and improve the quality of their CDISC-formatted submission data. At Pinnacle, I transitioned the startup to a more mature engineering organization, fueling its growth and leading to its sale to Certara in 2021.I am an active member of the Philadelphia technology community as an organizer and frequent presenter for regional conferences and events, serving as leader of the Philadelphia Java User Group for three years and the Philadelphia Area Scala Enthusiasts for four. I also serve on the programming committee for multi-day conferences including Philly ETE and The Northeast Scala Symposium, and have presented at many conferences and meetups, including BoxWorks, LibertyJS, Philly JUG, Philly ETE, React Philly, and the Northeast Scala Symposium. I have published and presented on a variety of topics over the years, most recently on Agile Practices, Engineering Management, Scala, JavaScript, and Functional Programming.I graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Computer Science.

I implemented parallel engineering pipelines to further development for Wingspan’s eTMF and eReg SaaS products, and drove organizational and operational changes in response to growth and changing business unit responsibilities.As Wingspan’s CTO I led an organizational pivot from a focus on integration products to industry-specific SaaS verticals, serving as architect and program executive for a new line of life sciences SaaS products including eTMF, SiteZone, and eReg. During this time I established and enforced new practices for data migration and consulting services while instilling a peer-based collaborative culture and engineering brand identity that helped transform Wingspan into a premium destination for engineering talent.
