The role of information services organization at MDA is to ensure that the organization is using the most effective application of technology & system automation to optimize MDA’s business processes and maximize overall organizational efficiency. This includes being responsible for all organizational information systems, including fundraising, financial systems, human resource systems, CRM, inventory & supply chain management, legal information systems & clinical information systems. MDA is a national organization with over a hundred regionalized offices across the United States, connected via a high-speed, highly-available consolidated voice & data network. Spent 2002 – 2005 expatriated to the United Kingdom, France and Spain, working as the highest ranking engineer, outside of Cerner corporate headquarters, charged with the development and ultimate engineering success of all Cerner solutions outside of the United States.➢ Direct responsibility for the execution and decisions of the 150 members of the software architect community.➢ The ability, not only to reach a consensus with a diverse group, but to be able to drive complex design patterns across multiple business groups, without the benefit of direct reporting relationships.➢ The ability to decompose complicated business scenarios as well as multifarious clinical workflows into an easily understandable, component-based design.➢ Full accountability for the overall software and technology architecture necessary for creating Cerner’s enterprise suite of clinical solutions. Responsible for delivering results around a broad number of architectural concepts, including:♦ Reusability. Ensuring that sound IT principals are utilized by our 1500-person engineering organization to guarantee the maximum amount of component re-use, and the lowest possible Total Cost of Development (TCD).♦ Manageability. CITO, Equity Partner & Vice President of Engineering is responsible for the production and delivery of the entire hardware and software development life cycle, from budgeting and planning through testing and user acceptance.
