As a Data Engineer with Optus, a leading telecommunications company in Australia, I played a key role in designing and maintaining ETL pipelines to handle complex data ingestion and transformation tasks. My role involved setting up streaming data sources to ingest real-time data into the cloud platform.In addition to these core responsibilities, I automated manual processes within data workflows, which significantly reduced error rates and improved overall operational efficiency. These improvements led to more reliable data processing and streamlined our operations. As part of Capgemini's 2022 Insights & Data Graduate Program, I immersed myself in multiple trainings focused on data science and technical consulting. The program equipped me with a comprehensive skill set and a deep understanding of the latest trends and practices in the field.In addition, I had the opportunity to work as a GCP Developer with a leading cosmetics company, where I have taken the responsibility of developing multiple APIs to streamline processes, automate tasks, and optimize data retrieval and manipulation. Moreover, I collaborated with Solution Architects to ensure that the APIs were optimized for internal workflows, as well as scalable and capable of meeting increasing business demands.

As a Data Analyst on the Insights team, I pioneered the implementation of an efficient end-to-end reporting process to empower the company's operation and support teams. My role involved seamlessly connecting, merging, and transforming data from diverse sources utilizing AWS, SQL, and Excel. To enhance data accessibility and enable real-time monitoring, I took the initiative to develop and automate data quality checks and validation processes to minimize manual errors. This accelerated data-driven decision-making for our stakeholders to help our clients address their business problems. Furthermore, I contributed to maintaining analytical tools to track key performance indicators derived from analyses for the organization's continued success.

I collaborated closely with the Machine Learning Team to build and maintain robust data pipelines supporting client projects. Through rigorous data collection, transformation, and integration, I ensured the availability of data for analysis and modeling. I leveraged the programming language of Python to ensure the accuracy and reliability of datasets used for model training and testing.One of the client's challenges was their data pipeline with large datasets result to slow and error-prone performance leading to data loss, bottlenecks, and delays. I took ownership to develop a tool to optimize the jobs running in the data pipeline, significantly decreasing processing time and ensuring high efficiency. I successfully tackled the performance issues, improving data flow, minimizing delays, and reducing the risk of data loss. The tool's impact resulted in enhanced productivity and streamlined operations.

Throughout my internship, I conducted comprehensive statistical analyses to support key business initiatives, including marketing campaigns, risk assessment, and financial forecasting. I proactively explored various data sets to identify key patterns, trends, and correlations. By utilizing Python, I conducted regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling. Furthermore, I presented analysis results, performance drivers, and recommendations to top-level management.

Due to the lack of cellular towers in the Philippines, several areas in the community continue to struggle to have internet access. In collaboration with my advisor and fellow research assistants, we implemented a small-sized tethered hot air balloon to house a system capable of extending the network coverage of nearby cellular towers within the operational vicinity of the system.My utmost responsibility was to design and construct an autonomous system that orients the antenna toward the desired cellular tower. It would lock on the target and adjust accordingly to compensate for the movement caused by external factors such as wind turbulence. As a result, the integrated system can acquire signals from nearby cellular towers and provide reliable internet access to communities having poor network connections.
