• 35+ years post-graduate experience in Asia & Africa, with marine & freshwater fisheries development & management, research, aquaculture & fisheries policy. This includes extensive project management experience, leading large, multi-disciplinary teams of specialists & relevant experience in the design, preparation, management, monitoring & evaluation of fish stock assessment, Coastal Zone Management, fisheries & aquatic resource projects for a range of donors. Responsible for all aspects of the regional project including client liaison and communication, high-level co-ordination between participating Fisheries Departments & collaborating European institutions, day-to-day project management, project cycle management; planning all activities, training & skills transfer, consultancy inputs (design, procurement, management, monitoring & evaluation of short-term inputs), financial management including accounting, reporting including technical & administrative outputs.• Formal training in (& extensive experience with) EC rules & regulations, Project Management Cycle & the EC Practical Guide. Highly relevant administrative experience under EU rules for development projects. Administrative responsibilities included running the Project Steering Committee, annual work-plans & cost estimates, accounting & financial planning, procurement under EC regulations for both supplies (specialist equipment) & services (specially short-term consulting inputs, both International and Local experts).Specialties: •Unique combination of relevant experience in formal and informal training/skills transfer, both in Developing Countries and with European Institutions. •Co-chair & Co-convenor of the International Great Lakes of the World (GLOW III, IV, V & VI) conferences.
