As Chief of Interbank’s communication department I am in charge of the implementation of telecommunication related projects that help the Company to achieve their goals in an effective manner through the adoption of new the communication technologies. I'm in charge of the implementation of projects related to LAN/WAN, WLAN, Data Center and Cloud environments. One of the most important aspects of my current position here in Interbank is to be the technical leader of such projects, dealing with different providers and collaborators. Before the implementation of a project I'm also involved in the evaluation of whether the proposed infrastructure by the Architecture Department is appropriated to fulfill one specific need or needs that the bank could have, also if the proposed solution can be implemented in the current environment. In my everyday work, I'm used to deal with complex network scenarios and propose changes that will improve the performance and benefits of such network. I have 6 engineer under my command that help me with the projects, each of them with a different set of skills and ages.

As a faculty member of BS Grupo I lecture a course named Installation and configuration of CISCO Networks. This course is based on the official CISCO networking academy curricula and teaches young students basic and intermediate skills to understand and operate enterprise networks.

Virgin Mobile PeruIT Infrastructure Chief EngineerAs Chief Engineer of Virgin’s Infrastructure department I am in charge of the design, implementation and operation of Virgin’s corporate network and cloud environment. Virgin’s corporate network is made of CISCO switches and firewalls and many other network devices of different brands; this network provided services to corporate staff and to Virgin’s call center as well. The cloud infrastructure is built on Amazon web services and joined to corporate network via the use of VPNs. Virgin Peru is a startup company a this allowed me to built all the infrastructure above mentioned from scratch. As any other start up company, saving money and resources is an important issue, so as Chief Engineer I am in charge of the design and implementation of plans that would allow the company to save money through the adoption of new technologies (specially from cloud). Finally, my duties also involved the administration of other IT assets as PCs, laptops and servers.

As part of the data center network team I provide network support to ATOS’ data centers across the United States. I manage complex and multivendor network environments. I’m used to work with different network vendors (CISCO, Juniper, F5, Brocade, etc.).Troubleshooting and network design are part of my daily work.

As an information management senior analyst at Xerox I am in charge of highly complex network environments of customer located in the United States. Troubleshooting is part of my everyday work, but also I can take care of new requirements from customers. At Xerox I have to manage multi-vendor networking environments, CISCO IOS Routers and Switches, CISCO NEXUS Switches, Juniper Screen OS firewalls and F5 load balancers are part of everyday workload.

As part of the faculty at Instituto de Emprendedores de USIL I lecture the course named Network Design, in which I teach young computer science students the fundaments of networking and best practices in network design, using CISCO's networking academy as the base of all my classes

As part of the Telecom Engineering team at Electrodata I was part of the task force involved on several projects specially addressed to ISP companies. One of the biggest projects was the design and implementation of OLO’s MPLS network. OLO is a Russian ISP that began operations in Peru in 2012 and offers mobile Internet access. At Electrodata I was also involved as part of the team in charge of the implementation of REP’s national data network; REP (Red de Energía del Perú) is an electrical company with branches across the Peruvian territory. But in my time working at ELECTRODATA I also was involved on projects addressed to enterprise environments, working with firewalls, load balancers, routers and switches from different vendors.

As an extended support engineer at CICSA I was in charge of the support of BIF’s (Banco Interamericano de Finanzas) network. BIF is one of CICSA’s more important clients. Among the network technologies I was in charge when I worked as BIF’s support engineer we can find layer 3 MPLS VPNs, layer 2 MPLS VPNs, IP telephony using CISCO Call Manager, QoS configuration, high availability configuration using CISCO routers (HSRP, VRRP), routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, Static routing), switching technologies (VLANs, trunks, spanning tree, VTP) etc.

At TELMEX, as a network analyst I worked in the Network Operation Center (NOC) monitoring TELMEX’s MPLS network across the Peruvian territory. Among the technologies I worked with we can find layer 2 and layer 3 MPLS VPNs, QoS configuration, high availability technologies using CISCO routers, routing protocols like BGP and static routing, switching technologies across metro Ethernet environments, transport technologies like SDH and ATM and wireless links.

As a field engineer I worked visiting client’s locations and performing on site troubleshooting on CISCO networks. I worked doing physical testing on optical fiber and cupper cabling.

At CAV Telecom I was a technician in charge of PBX configurations. Among the PBX brands I worked with we can count Siemens, LG, Panasonic, etc. I also worked making cabling implementations for small and medium size companies
