I am an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Almost 3 decades ago, I founded W.A.G. payment solutions, which is known under the market brand www.eurowag.com. Today, it is listed on the main market of LSE (ticker: WPS.L), of which I am still a full-time CEO.I am a passionate philanthropist who primarily realizes my activities through the family foundation www.blizksobe.cz/en (translated as Closer-together foundation). I hold an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and an OPM title from Harvard Business School. I give lectures at the Prague University of Economics and Business and provide speeches at various venues.Career🚀I was born in 1975 in Most, North Bohemia. During high school, I engaged in my very first business ventures of door-to-door life insurance sales. The initial success made me decide to abandon the idea of university studies and continue building my insurance business. A year later, I started exploring different business opportunity. In 1995, I founded the company W.A.G. payment solutions, initially as a regional fuel trader. Soon, it transformed into a payment solutions provider for trucking companies. Today, Eurowag is a high-growth technology company that provides payments and mobility solutions, enabling the digital and operational transformation of the European trucking industry and making it cleaner, fairer, and more efficient. Eurowag employs more than 2,000 professionals from 50 nationalities across Europe.Philanthropy 🤲I am one of the co-founders of the www.nfnz.cz (“Independent Journalism Foundation”), and I was one of the seed donors of the newspaper www.denikn.cz.In November 2016, I established the Blížksobě Foundation – a means of supporting or creating projects that protect freedom and strengthen democracy and its institutions. The Foundation's second area of focus is the transformation of the educational system in the Czech Republic.I am also one of the co-founders of the initiative www.druhaekonomickatransformace.cz (2nd Economic Transformation Initiative), which consolidates the voices of leading businesswomen and businessmen in the Czech Republic. Its purpose is to define and help implement a national economic vision for the next 3 decades, allowing for the full utilization of the country's potential. The initiative is based on 3 key principles: a knowledge-based, high-value-added economy, societal and environmental sustainability, and openness of the country and its economy.
