I am the Dean and Managing Director of Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) and a professor of innovation management. I research open and distributed innovation and have a keen interest in how firms can involve outside parties, such as users, clients, and suppliers, in their innovation activities. My research has been published in top academic outlets such as Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy, MIS Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, and California Management Review. I teach innovation management, strategy, and entrepreneurship classes for graduate students and executives. Most of my teaching has been done at Chalmers and ETH Zurich, and I enjoy invitations to lecture across Europe. For example, I have been a visiting professor at the University of Luxembourg, teaching a professional master's course in innovation management. I’m affiliated with ETH Zurich, the House of Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics, and the Centre for Innovation Research at Lund University. I have research and consulting experience in various industries (e.g., information technology, software, chemicals, steel and metal, pulp and paper, and professional services). I also conduct executive seminars and workshops on business model innovation, implementing open innovation, and digital transformation.
