My colleagues describe me as a creative and positive leader. When I find room for improvement in any area, I make it my challenge to figure out how to turn it into something great instead. Examples of this are:When I took over the team leadership role for my team, they did not have a structured way of working. It caused frustration, stress, bad quality and missed deadlines. I clearly saw the need for change and initiated a transformation process in order to shift into an agile work environment with clear structure and responsibilities. The result was team members who felt that they were in control over their own situation, the quality of the application increased and we were able to give our end customers new deliveries every sixth week instead of twice a year.My new team members were extremely technical competent but struggled to function well as a team. This showed by lack of communication which led to misunderstandings that caused unnecessary overtime and irritation. I started to look into ways to deal with it and decided to try applying the “Five dysfunctions of a team” methodology. The result was a team who grew and started to take ownership of their decisions and responsibilities. The trust level rose and we dared to challenge each other without feeling cornered. Our working atmosphere became relaxed and positive and even more stimulated.PRINCE2 Practitioner certified Project Manager.
