I am a Trustee at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts (Chairman up to November 2023).Up to 31 March 2021 I was a non- executive director of a pension scheme trust company, Ross Trustees Services Ltd. Previously: up to August 2011, I was Head of Risk Management for BDO LLP nationally and a Client Relationship Lead Partner. As Head of Risk Management at BDO LLP, I was responsible to the partnership in the UK for the risks undertaken by the business as a whole, assessing the commercial effects of those risks and determining the firm’s approach to them. As a Client Relationship Lead Partner, my role was to engage with the clients at senior levels and ensure that I understood their business and the strategies they were implementing and that the firm was providing them with the services they needed to ensure their success.I was also responsible for consistently achieving budget for two large regions of the firm.And I had also been on the firm's Partnership Council (and Audit Committee), the Management Executive, and was Chairman of the firm's pension scheme trustees.Also previously, up to September 2016 I was a trustee of The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women (Chairman up to 30 June 2016).Specialties: Non-executive, pension scheme trustee (including Chair and investment sub-committee), risk management, business strategy, audit committee, tax planning, charities.
