• Uphold a state of readiness for emergency response; manage, examine, repair, and execute other technical duties related to the apparatus and equipment in the Fire Department.• Dispense first-aid to injured or distressed persons, spinal and cervical immobilization; stabilize patients for transportation; performs Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).• Give needed first aid and life support as required; operated various forms of rescue, emergency and fire suppression equipment as necessary.• Execute emergency medical responsibilities as authorized by state health and regulatory agencies for an Emergency Medical Technician.• Ensure that suitable environments are upheld at the assigned station; confirming that all equipment and apparatus is in a continuous state of readiness for emergency calls.• Perform a comprehensive inspection and test of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and other equipment; perform minor repairs on apparatus and equipment.• Take part in activities and tasks in response to natural disasters, major accidents, incidents involving hazardous materials, and other emergency situations.• Formulate periodic accurate reports concerning activities and operations of the department as assigned including those related to reporting medical service provisions.• Developing and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with district employees, volunteers, active duty military, and the community.
