vMPF - Relocations: Led team and performed analysis, design, and implementation. The application serves more than 100,000 service members, automating business processes for over 20,000 assignments, retirements, and separations annually. Data resided in both SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 9i with access abstracted through the data layer in the multi-tiered architecture.vMPF – Data Verification Brief: Performed analysis, design, and implementation for this Web application. The application enables a service member to view online many details of their service record. The goal of porting this application from “classic” ASP to our new, multi-tiered architecture was to populate the majority of business objects used by other vMPF applications. This GUI serves as the reference implementation for the model-view-presenter (passive view) design pattern. Project completed on time and on budget.vMPF – Enlisted Promotion Information: Performed analysis, design, and implementation for this Web application. Verified correct functioning of the migrated stored procedures. Assisted in porting our backend from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. This application was the first to go live with the new team-authored multi-tiered architecture, the newly migrated SQL Server 2005 database, and new Web server hardware. This project completed on time and on budget.RAW – AFR 3D: Authored the Air Force Reserve component of the SAS/Intrnet-based 3DAF Web application, thus completing the first total force solution for the Retrieval Application Website (RAW). This reporting module provided demographic groupings based on user-selected criteria. My new DHTML tabbed interface design offered twice as many criteria selectors as those available in the other force component solutions, as well as a user-friendly summary of the chosen criteria. Assisted with the migration of the RAW backend database from MSSQL 7 to MSSQL 2000.

Performed analysis of Child Support data to create web based presentation of strategic and operational information using SAS (Intrnet, Graph, Macro, Share, ODS, Connect, ETS, Access:Oracle, Access:Adabas) and DHTML under Solaris and Z/OS (Mainframe).These activities improved the speed of case processing by identifying cases matching caseworker-specified criteria and provided management with an at a glance overview of their five strategic performance measures.

Successfully ported and updated the graphical user interfaces, and eliminated Y2K / leap day issues for these products: manufacturing device warranty tracking (OIES) and wafer yield statistical process control (OLSPC).

Implemented tcl based client/server wafer manufacturing equipment track in decision application. This application also tracks copper contamination levels and enforces a state model to prevent the spread of copper contamination to inappropriate lots or equipment.Migrated proprietary silicon wafer test database (40GB) and analysis application (Synergy) to third party application (KLA's Discovery), leveraging Oracle SQLPlus & SQLnet and SAS skills.

Led a team of nine engineers in developing a Motif-based industrial process control primary user interface (Operator Workplace Console). Developed in a multi-threaded, real-time operating system kernel (VaxELN). Implemented the display primitives (used to construct the user configured process displays) using an RPC layer to isolate the operating system-specific code and facilitate portability. Project manager and team leader for five engineers developing a Motif-based, distributed, secondary operator interface for the Provue Console (Network Operation Server). This was the first project and product to introduce these technologies at Fisher. Authored several custom widgets to implement proprietary user interface look and feel.Led a team of three engineers in designing and implementing Fisher's redundant, supervisory process control package (Activities). This project was the pilot used to evaluate the incorporation of CASE tools into Fisher's software development methodology. Implemented the display, database, and reporting subsystems for the Fisher industrial process control system computer/human interface product (Provue). From existing requirements documentation, I created product functional specifications, design documentation, test suites, product code, and user documentation.
