Marty Hersh is Director of Central Region Fiber Access Engineering. Marty leads a team of engineers and professionals responsible for One Fiber/ODN/PON engineering design and construction in 12 states (AR, IA, IL, KS, LA, MN, MO, NE, ND, OK, SD, and WI)Prior to this role, Marty was Director of Network Design & Build supporting One Fiber. In this capacity, he was responsible for One Fiber Core Transport and Distribution design, budget, negotiating and securing franchises, pole agreements, and other contracts required to expand Verizon’s Wireline Competitive Local Exchange Network. Marty began his telecom career with WilTel as an OSP Field Engineer and moved to leadership roles with increasing responsibility, including assignments in OSP Build, Right of Way, Network Engineering, Project Management, Budget, and OSP Maintenance.

The team of engineers and professionals are responsible for Core Transport and Distribution design, geospatial analysis, financial modeling, and budget. The team negotiates and secures franchises, pole agreements, and other contracts required to expand Verizon’s Wireline Competitive Local Exchange Network.Prior to this role, Marty was Associate Director VzB Transport Engineering. In this capacity, he was responsible for project management, right of way, budgets, performance, and other business operations associated with VzB OSP and Layer 1 transport engineering.
