My responsibilities included but were not limited to, sales, profits, marketing, budgeting and planning, food safety and certification, customer satisfaction and indexes, cleanliness, health ratings, company inspections, labor and food costs, inventory control, ordering, etc…

I was employed at a synthetic fuel production plant located at Southern Company's Plant Branch in Milledgeville, Georgia. I also worked at the company's Alabama location in Wilsonville, Alabama. I served many different roles, most recently a utility worker unloading latex and asphalt trucks. I have been a foreman, responsible for supervising the A shift, as well as a fill-in foreman, plant operator, and plant helper. In January 2007, all employees for my company, Alabama Coal Recovery, L.L.C., were informed the company's contract with Southern Company was expiring at the first of the year, and the company's plants would be shut down. The last day of my employment was January 3, 2008.; My responsibilities at each of the following hotels and restaurants included developing, administering, and maintaining organization and proper procedures for efficient operation. I maximized guest satisfaction, revenues, profits, and cash flow and protected company assets by utilizing and implementing the standards, policies and procedures set forth by each company.; Steaks to Go, CJN, Inc. - Managing PartnerGiven the opportunity to become part owner of this locally franchised food delivery service, I resigned my hotel management position at Shoney's Inn and Suites, with the intent to pursue long-range financial goals. I operated this steak take-out and delivery service until the lease ran out. I was unable to pursue ownership because the original owners, my partners, decided to dissolve the business when the lease came up for renewal.

As the General Manager of this 115 room limited service hotel, I was responsible for the complete operation of the hotel. This included, but was not limited to, sales and marketing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, cost controls, guest service, maintenance, housekeeping, training, human resources, and quality assurance.

During this period in Alabama I managed a full service 100 room Holiday Inn in Lake Guntersville, a 233 room full service Parliament House Hotel in Birmingham, an 89 room Days Inn in Muscle Shoals (including a lounge), a 285 room Hawthorn Suites Hotel, and the Rime Garden Extended Stay Suites in Birmingham. I was promoted or transferred to each of these hotels that were owned and managed by King Management Company. I was responsible for and worked in the following areas: Administration, Guest Services, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Night Audit, Food and Beverage, Banquets, and Sales and Marketing.

As a hands-on manager, I was responsible for the overall operation of this restaurant and bar, including food and beverage revenues and costs, inventories, labor controls, and sales and marketing.

I was the assistant manager in Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama at these chain restaurants owned by Norman Brinker and the Pillsbury Corporation. I began as a waiter working my way into management through the management training program. I opened and trained employees at new stores in Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Tampa Bay, and Pompano Beach, Florida, as a company trainer.

I began my career in this restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida. I was a dishwasher, busboy, waiter, and maitre'd.
