Also worked closely with suppliers and was responsible to maintain active project management on all assignments related to production release. Also assigned to support Quality Assurance and Manufacturing/Process personnel to resolve component, subassembly and assembly issues. Generated facility APQP procedure, Design Control Checklists and utilized Pre-Production Quality Assurance System procedure to implement new, high revenue programs.

Charged with designing, testing and transitioning into manufacturing ratiometric pressure transducers used for commercial and industrial applications. Also responsible for incorporating poly-silicon strain gauge and micro-machined silicon strain gauge products into the project sales portfolio. Responsibilities included redesigning high volume automotive devices for standard and high accuracy commercial/industrial applications, generation of both parts lists using 'intelligent' part numbers and an electronic parts list generator, conducting design validation tests, generation of DFMEA's and customer/marketing technical support. Worked with manufacturing cells to maintain acceptable production yields for each product and analyzed production yield using Gausian statistical methods. A variety of new pressure transducer configurations were designed during this period, as well as test tooling and fixturing.

Performed preliminary mechanical design of rotor-stator assembly for a permanent magnet 25,000 H.P. motor. Led the work effort to create, sign-off and submit to Newport News Shipyard production drawings for a 22 MW permanent magnet generator while coordinating inputs from R&D engineering and manufacturing.

Headed up Spears Associates' Mechanical Engineering Department. Responsibilities included generation, monitoring and control of both department and project budgets and schedules, design supervision of department personnel and active involvement in company bids and proposals for new business. The position also included control of the company's print room and drafting group. In addition to overseeing the design work of department engineers, I performed specific manual and computer designs covering vibration control, acoustic analysis, electronic enclosures, passive and active thermal management systems, plastic enclosures and detail parts, hydrodynamics, buoyancy and composite laminate parts.

Ring Laser Gyro Development, Northrop Corp, Ppd

Responsible for Northrop's Ring Laser Gyro prototype manufacturing group to fabricate per engineering drawings and/or specifications all glass/ceramic components used in ring laser gyros. Additionally tasked to procure and schedule delivery of metal components either through outside suppliers or Northrop's in-house Model Shop or Machine Shop. The overall scope of work included drawing review, schedule review, fabrication process generation, tooling fabrication, product flow records, equipment loading, equipment log maintenance, quality control review, management of manufacturing personnel and production of parts utilizing CNC machining centers (vertical milling machine), grinders, etch stations, etc.
