We have already accomplished several healthcare projects; 125 bed care home in Hamilton Ont., more than 400 hospital and care home beds in Guelph and Brantford Ont., several locations in Ottawa for more than 200 more beds; care facilities in Alberta are being completed in 2023, and BC has several projects already complete as of May 2023 for nurse call integrations including Pearson, Youville, Honoria Conway care homes, Irene Thomas Hospice. In the System Support role, my focus was on supporting both sales and project managers on Telephony and Nurse Call integration, using 30 years experience to support installation teams and system upgrades, manage client expectations and training, and support the customer/solution when things go sideways on the project. Working with the health systems team was exciting and challenging; the systems we were implementing are complex and I found the challenge to be very exciting. Working on life safety systems in hospitals and elder-care facilities is fulfilling.I spend a lot of time doing design refinement and pre-deployment of systems to confirm the solution works as promised before the techs hang it on the wall and plug it in.

Contract Vernon Telecom became full time employment, sold Vernon Telecom - I managed and provided technical mentoring for 4-6 technicians, providing training and career management, daily technician job load out help to dispatch, SLA monitoring and management, escalations management. I was doing project management, system design and implementation for TDM/IP-Hybrid and all-IP systems ranging in size from 3 to 150 users including multi-site networked solutions. I also assisted in implementation of TigerPaw CRM in the office. I excel at customer support and user training, both over the phone and on customer premises.

It's not just about phones, I find it's about understanding what the customer needs - and that takes time and experience with 'out of the box' thinking to get the best solution for the customer. TELUS/Weyerhaeuser Canada - One of my larger projects was as a subcontractor doing project management work, managing all Weyerhaeuser Nortel Option 11c/51/61/81 Rel. 25 PBX with MMail Rel. 13 and CallPilot Rel. 1-3 installations across Canada, including managing technicians and assisting with MAC programming. 360networks - Another long-term subcontract for project management work as new office builds communications systems manager. I provided and managed the procurement, installation and networking of the Nortel Option11c Rel. 24 telephone systems in every new office built in North America, and trained new office staff on system operation.More recently, we upgraded the telephone system in the District of Coldstream City Hall and all the district fire hall systems. We also upgraded the Vernon 911 centre phone system and the call / radio recording suite. Very fun and interesting projects.

I was installing and maintaining Option11c and Option11 compact telephone systems, cat5e cabling, PRI and Nortel VoIP all over the lower mainland and Vancouver Island.Commercial cabling including fibre, cat3, cat5, paging systems, telephone system installations and MAC work on Nortel Norstar, Meridian1/Option11c/MMail, Mitel SX 200d, 200L, ML, 2000G, Centigram Voicemail, Toshiba Strata and DK series, and some more obscure systems.

Program and install/maintain business and campus telephone systems, including TIE M1000 and Mitel 2000G, Nitsuko Onyx, Option21/Mermail, Norstar, AT&T Partner. We had the contract to manage the telephone system and campus telephone and network infrastructure for Trinity Western University and Pitney Bowes. Those 2 larger clients required management the telephone system and installed all telephone cabling, inter-building copper and fiber plant, and retrofit campus dorms and offices with all new Cat5e cabling. I terminated all fiber cabling with ST hot melt terminations. Customer management with service level agreements in effect.

This was a full time term contract position to cover for a colleague leave of absence. 4th term telecommunications technician training - basic cat3/cat5 cabling techniques, telephone and networking troubleshooting, pbx/ksu installation and programming. During this time I also volunteered to teach night classes in analog and digital electronics basics. .
