Going back a little farther, I consulted on process automation, founded Stardust.com which was acquired by Penton Media for its influence on emerging streaming protocols, founded Aventail (the first commercial VPN) which was acquired by SonicWall, and co-founded Winsock Labs which resulted in the propagation of the Winsock API and other internet protocols by building a community of more than 1,200 emerging internet engineers.
