Since his teen years he has entertained diverse audiences - from the very young to the very old, in venues large and small, from hospitals and pubs to cathedrals and ballrooms. His song repertoire is vast and covers many decades of uplifting and romantic musical favorites. For over 40 years he devoted his life to health care ministry leadership until recently retiring as Vice President of Mission Services for Dignity Health hospitals in Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona. His call to bring joy and healing through music and storytelling has been a lifelong passion. Marty welcomes new opportunities to bring his music to the community.

Vice President Of Mission Integration - RetiredDignity Health Apr 2005 - Jan 2019Chandler And Gilbert, ArizonaFor 14 years I was trusted with the responsibility for leading mission integration, clinical ethics, spiritual care and community outreach programs for this two-hospital regional health care delivery system. I was accountable for mission integration processes to effectively support and promote the historical ministry and religious image of two fantastic faith based hospitals in the Phoenix area. Served as an inspirational advisor for executive leadership decision-making processes regarding our spiritual direction, goals, policies and programs to ensure consistency with the Mission and Core Values of Dignity Health.Served as a liaison to the Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Phoenix, and multiple interfaith communities. Built network of health ministries in the Phoenix East Valley to help integrate faith and health in more than 25 church communities. Led complex ethics committee with priority focus on ERD education, beginning and end-of-life issues; advance directive education, policy and case consultation and performance improvement initiatives.Provided vision and leadership for the Spiritual Care department in its role of addressing the spiritual needs of patients, families and staff with respect for all beliefs, religions and spiritual convictions.Enjoyed giving leadership and direction to the Community Integration department, setting priorities for improving the health of the community and serving the needs of the poor and other vulnerable populations.I was the Vice President responsible for the 800 volunteers serving our two hospitals, overseeing the volunteer services department and related mission functions. Continued in retirement serving as Connector for the Sisters of Mercy Volunteer Corps mission to the Navajo people at St. Michael’s Association for Special Education.Retired as planned at age 62. -

Achieved reaccreditation with commendations for SJRMC Clinical Pastoral Education program - the only such honor nationally in 1999.Maintained oversight for $43 million community benefit inventory.Created a multi-cultural access program to address cultural barriers to service, winning two local awards for outreach to the Latino community.Provided operational oversight for Adult Day Service, Health Ministry Partnership.Met Coretta Scott King, Roselyn Carter, Tom Brokaw, Joe Garagiola and a host of others in my eight years spending time on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
